Ellie was mopey. There was no denying that. Even Vishuddha, who was staying close to his owner, sensed her melancholy mood.

Everytime she looked over at the empty half of her room, she was reminded that her roommate and best friend had left. She couldn't help thinking about how everyone she is close to leaves. First her mother, then her father, and now her best friend. Of course, she understood why Jennifer had to go home. There was a good and compelling reason.

Still, the abandonment issues were strong in this one.

Ellie had a pretty good time at prom last night, but she was exhausted when she returned to her room. She barely mumbled a goodnight to Jennifer before crashing fast.

Sleep was good, though. It was probably something Ellie was going to get very little of in the next few days.

Ellie wanted to push her flight back so she could return to Fandom this weekend with her brother, but he convinced her it was okay to catch the one she had scheduled for today.

There were a lot of emotions she was feeling right now. There was the worry for her dad. At least he seemed to be okay with the plan for both of his kids to attend school all the way across county. Still, she was going to worry. And partially blame herself even though she was in no responsible for his current mental condition. Mostly she felt relief. She'd no longer have to worry about Chuck. At least not as much.

After the long flight, she happily returned to her room and flopped down onto the bed. She could swear jet lag was made even worse traveling though time. Or something. It was good to be back.

Ellie was just a bit frustrated.

She was having all these strange feelings and staring at pictures of hot, shirtless guys wasn't quite as satisfying. Even if that one guy from Supers was really pretty. Reading the fan fiction she discovered wasn't really satisfying either. There were a lot of prolific and smutty writers out there, though. Some of the pairings were truly bizarre. That was one word for it.

She blinked a lot at some of the stuff she was reading. "How is that even possible?"

There was no answer because her roommate was a kitten right now.
