Ellie glanced at two phone numbers that were programmed into her cellphone. One was the phone number to her house in Encino. The other was her father's cellphone number. Every now and then, like right now, she pondered calling these numbers, hoping he would answer. Everytime the house phone rang, she was relieved because it meant it hadn't been shut off, yet. Someone was paying the bills, so at least she and Chuck had a place to stay if they ever wanted to go home for whatever reason. That was good to know.
Of course, the continuous ringing meant there wasn't anyone there to answer it. Her dad's cellphone number, like the other times she tried to call, was still disconnected. Wherever he was, he really did not want to be contacted.
She considered deleted the number from her phone, but she just couldn't bring herself to. Not, yet.
[the show finally developed my girl a bit more, so felt inspired;post is open establishy now because I'm not feeling well, bleh]
